Recurring events and exceptions: repeating classes and one-day changes
How to create a class that repeats every week in Badgie, change a single session (time, location, capacity, students), cancel it for a holiday or rain without losing history, and when to edit or delete the whole series.

Quick answer
In Badgie a class that repeats is a series: you set the days, times and end date once and the calendar generates every session. For a one-day change use Edit only this session or Cancel this session; to change the timetable of the whole term use Edit the class (all sessions). Cancelling keeps the session as not held and can be restored; deleting removes it along with its attendance.
In this guide
Where to find it
- Dashboard → Calendar: click any session to open it. The pencil holds the edits and the three dots the cancel and delete options.
- Calendar → Settings → Event series: every repeating class in one table (Template view), with New class and the Show finished switch.
- In the calendar sidebar, the Cancelled filter (Hide / Cancelled only) shows sessions that did not take place.
Step by step: create a repeating class
- In the Calendar click Create event and fill in the Essentials step (type, title, course, location and teachers).
- In Schedule, choose the Repetition: Does not repeat, Daily, Weekly, Every 2 weeks or Monthly.
- Tick the Days of the week. If each day starts at a different time, turn on Schedule per day.
- Set Valid from, Start time, End time and Repeat until, or tick No end date. The Summary shows the pattern in one sentence (for example, "Every Tuesday and Thursday at 19:30 until 2026-11-28").

- Complete the Participants, Settings and Review steps. Each step is explained in the guide "Create and manage events".
Step by step: change a single session
- Open that day's session in the Calendar and click the pencil → Edit only this session.
- Change whatever is different that day: Title, Capacity, Location (or Use the series location), Start time and End time. The course belongs to the whole class and is changed in the class editor.
- To have no training that day, turn on Cancel class and choose the reason. Click Save.

- If a student misses only that day, or you want to add someone to that session, click Students → Edit this class: you can Add student, Remove or Skip this class without touching the rest of the series.
Cancel or delete: session or series
The three dots on the session give you four options:
- Cancel this session: asks for a reason (Rain or bad weather, Holiday or club closed, Not enough students, The activity had not started yet, Facility unavailable, No coach available, Technical decision or Other reason) and an optional note. The session stays on the calendar as not held and does not count as an absence.
- Cancel the whole series: marks every event in the series as not held. They remain visible and can be restored.
- Delete this session or Delete the whole series: removes it from the calendar and the app, together with its enrolments and attendance. Nobody is notified and it cannot be undone.

A session cancelled by mistake is brought back with Restore class in the same menu.
Change the whole class
Click the pencil → Edit the class (all sessions). The wizard has four steps: Essentials, Schedule, Settings and Review.
- If you change the pattern (days, times or dates), Badgie warns you: "Changing the pattern regenerates future classes without attendance." Past sessions and their attendance are kept.
- Changing the course affects future sessions and recalculates what each student owes.
- Students → Edit the whole series shows each student with their Class days and their start and end dates in the group; you can also remove them from there.

- Manage teachers assigns a Main or Assistant teacher with From and Until dates, so you can cover a few weeks of substitution without rebuilding the class.
What the family or player sees
In the app, each student sees in their calendar the sessions of the groups they are enrolled in, including any time or location change for a given day. If attendance confirmation or a reminder is turned on in the class settings, the notices go out through the chosen channels (App, Email or WhatsApp).
By sport
- Swimming and indoor sports: fixed groups by level (Beginners, Development, Masters) two or three days a week; the Facility unavailable reason covers a pool or sports hall closure.
- Padel, tennis and golf: weekly classes on the same court; use Rain or bad weather for outdoor sessions.
- Football and team sports: training sessions are weekly series and matches are one-off events; a one-day pitch change is done with Edit only this session.
With the AI agent
The dashboard agent can make these changes for you; it proposes each one and applies it once you approve:
- "Create the Masters group on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 to 9:00 until June" (creates the series).
- "Move Development B to 20:00 from Monday" (edits the series while keeping attendance history).
- "Cancel the Morning adults class on 12 October, it's a holiday" (cancels only that day).
- "How many classes have we run this month?" (counts the real sessions on the calendar).
Frequently asked questions
If I cancel a session for a holiday, do students get an absence?
No. A cancelled session is recorded as not held and does not count as an absence for anyone.
What is the difference between cancelling and deleting?
Cancelling keeps the session on the calendar with its reason and can be restored. Deleting removes it with its attendance and enrolments, without notice and with no way back.
If I change the timetable mid-season, do I lose past attendance?
No. Editing the class only regenerates future sessions without attendance; past ones are kept.
Can a student come on only one day of a two-day class?
Yes. In Students → Edit the whole series you tick their class days.
How do I set a substitute for a few weeks?
In Manage teachers, add the substitute with From and Until dates.
