Training diary statistics in Badgie: averages, minimums and maximums per question

Quick answer

The Statistics tab in Training diary turns diary answers into figures: for each numeric question it shows the number of answers, the average, minimum, maximum and standard deviation, filtered by dates, students and coaches. Use it to track, for example, a group's average perceived effort or distance over a month.

Where to find it

  • Web: Training diary (/dashboard/training-diary) → Statistics tab.

Filter the period and the group

  1. Choose the date range (the last month by default).
  2. Optionally narrow it to specific students or coaches.
  3. At the bottom you'll see how many text and numeric answers are included.

Option questions and numeric data

  • Diary questions: how answers to option questions (dropdown, multi-select) are distributed.
  • Numeric data: one row per numeric or slider question with count, average, minimum, maximum and standard deviation.

Numeric data from the swimming diary in September: 107 answers per question.

Where the data comes from

Every figure comes from the entries coaches log in the diary. The more complete the entries, the more reliable the averages.

Statistics are calculated from each entry's answers.

What the student or family sees

Statistics are for the club only: students and families don't see them.

By sport

Swimming: distance per session and effort. Team sports: perceived load and fatigue to adjust the week. Tennis, padel or martial arts: practice minutes and mood before a competition.

With the AI agent

  • get_diary_stats: returns the average, minimum, maximum and number of answers per question, filterable by diary. Ask it, for example, "what's the average perceived effort in the swimming diary?".
