The Martial Arts Method
The Martial Arts Method offers beginner-friendly martial arts classes for children, teenagers and adults and has operated in Mirfield for seven years. The school is BMABA governed. Its owner and instructor holds a 3rd Dan Shorai International black belt. Competition is optional.
Tots classes are for ages 3–5 and last 30 minutes. Junior classes serve ages 6–9 and last 45 minutes. Youth classes are for ages 10–14 and last 60 minutes, while adult and teen classes serve ages 15 and over and also last 60 minutes.
Parents can watch beside the mats or from downstairs seating with a class television feed. Free unrestricted parking is available in the courtyard and surrounding street. All classes take place at Royds Mill, 20 Calder Road, Mirfield.
The first month costs £95, including uniform and gloves. From month two, membership costs £75 per month for two coached classes each week. The third and each additional family member pay £37.50 per month in ongoing fees. A full sparring kit costs an additional £95 when appropriate. Membership runs monthly, with cancellation notice specified in the agreement.
New students can try two classes free, without a uniform or specialist equipment. The first free class is booked online, and the second is arranged with the school.
