Portmore Golf Academy

Portmore Golf Academy operates at Portmore Golf Park, on the outskirts of Barnstaple in North Devon. It offers private golf lessons, shared lessons for pairs, playing lessons, adult courses and junior coaching. Individual lessons are conducted by a PGA Professional.

Private lessons last 40 minutes and take place in a refurbished studio, using FlightScope launch monitor technology. Playing lessons teach course management, strategy and club selection. The adult Bronze course provides five weeks of 50-minute lessons, with a maximum of 10 people. The adult Silver course teaches short-game basics.

The Barum Course is an 18-hole parkland course for all skill levels. The Loop is a 9-hole par-3 course suitable for beginners and experienced players. The driving range uses Toptracer technology. Junior lessons use the driving range year-round and the putting green in spring and summer.

An adult individual 40-minute lesson costs £40. A junior individual 40-minute lesson for ages 17 and under costs £30. The adult Bronze course costs £50 for five weeks. Junior coaching takes place on Saturdays from 9am in 45-minute sessions and costs £28 for four weeks, with a maximum of 14 per group.
