Kendal Chojinkai Karate Club

Kendal Chojinkai Karate Club was founded in 1982 and is part of the British Karate–Do Chojinkai Association. It is a full member of the English Karate National Governing Body. Training is led by female and male black belt instructors, with sessions for children from age four and adults of all ages.

Tuesday and Friday sessions are divided into four age groups. Little Dragons sessions for ages 4–7 run from 18:00 to 18:30. Junior sessions for ages 7–11 run from 18:00 to 19:00, followed by Intermediate sessions for ages 11–16 from 19:00 to 20:00. Senior sessions for ages 16 and over run from 20:00 to 21:00. Gradings are usually held every three months.

Monthly membership costs £30 and includes karate licence renewal. Once-a-week monthly membership costs £20. Pay-as-you-go training costs £5 per session and excludes karate licence renewal. Little Dragons sessions cost £3 each, and starter packs cost a one-off £35.

Tuesday and Friday sessions take place at The Queen Katherine School Gym in Kendal. Thursday self-led training for graded adults runs from 18:30 to 20:30 at The Bryce Institute in Burneside and is by invitation only. The club offers a month of free taster sessions, with new starter intakes in January, April, July and October.
