Furness Gymnastics

Furness Gymnastics offers women's artistic gymnastics for girls in Barrow-in-Furness. It has helped girls develop in gymnastics since the 1970s and operates as a not-for-profit club supported by volunteers. The club is Gym Mark accredited and registered with British Gymnastics.

Classes cater for complete beginners through to competitive gymnasts. Preschool classes are offered for ages 0–5, recreational gymnastics for ages five and older, and a competition squad for ages four and older. Coaches are qualified and trained through British Gymnastics. The club also runs holiday camps for non-members.

The club has a permanent gymnastics hall with asymmetric bars, trampettes, beams, vaulting tables and a full-size floor. It also has a foam block safety pit.

Main classes run during school term time only. Beginner classes cost £5.50 for 45 minutes or £7 for one hour. All gymnasts must have British Gymnastics membership, although children can attend two sessions before committing to annual membership.

The club is located at Greater Kings Hall on Hartington Street in Barrow-in-Furness. New members join a waiting list because classes are full. Gymnasts invited into a class can trial it.
