City Kempo
City Kempo is an adult martial arts club teaching Shorinji Kempo in London. Training includes blocking, striking, releases, joint locks and throws. Classes incorporate mindful meditation and philosophy and welcome adults aged 18 and over at all fitness levels.
Training takes place at Finsbury Leisure Centre on Norman Street, London EC1V 3PU. Changing rooms have showers. Farringdon, Barbican and Old Street stations are each a 10-minute walk away.
Classes run on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 18:00 to 20:00. Monthly unlimited training covers up to eight classes and costs £60, or £50 for concessions, payable by standing order. Drop-in classes cost £12, or £10 for students and people not working. Drop-in payments can be made by card or bank transfer.
A free introductory class is available through booking. Participants should wear comfortable gym clothing. Regular training requires membership and insurance through the British Shorinji Kempo Federation. New beginners receive one month of free membership. Annual BSKF membership and insurance costs approximately £55, or £44 for students.
