Barnet Combat Academy was established in 2012 and offers martial arts in Barnet. It welcomes juniors, adults, beginners and experienced fighters. Programmes include children's martial arts for ages 6–13 and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with and without the gi. Private sessions are available in every discipline.
The academy has four dedicated Muay Thai instructors. The head BJJ coach is a black belt and British NoGi title holder. All children's class instructors hold Enhanced DBS certificates.
Training equipment includes a boxing ring, punch bags, gloves, pads and shin guards. Equipment can be borrowed.
Adult pay-per-class fees are £15 for one hour or £20 for 1.5 hours. Adult monthly membership costs £98 at Barnet and £79 at Potters Bar. Children's pay-as-you-go classes cost £9, payable in cash. Changes and cancellations require at least two weeks' notice.
The Barnet gym is at 125 East Barnet Road, New Barnet, EN4 8RF. The Potters Bar venue is at Hodge House on Cranborne Road, EN6 3JN, and offers free parking. Registration is required before attending a first class. The first class is free.
